Flower gardens — Dalat the floral city
Dalat produces 70% of Vietnam's flowers. The municipal flower garden (Vuon Hoa Da Lat) displays roses, mimosa and chrysanthemums across 7 hectares. In January, the Flower Festival transforms the whole city. Flower farms on the outskirts offer tours from €2.

Canyoning — Elephant Falls
Dalat is Vietnam's canyoning capital. Abseiling 20 to 35 m behind waterfalls, swimming in natural pools and zip-lining through the jungle. Organised excursions from €25-50 depending on level — no experience required for the beginner level.

Colonial-era train — Art Deco station
Dalat station (1938) is one of Southeast Asia's most beautiful stations, in Art Deco style. A vintage train runs from the station to Trai Mat village (8 km) in 30 minutes, crossing rice paddies and pine forests. Return ticket: €5.

Dalat coffee — weasel & local blends
Dalat is one of Vietnam's most renowned coffee-producing regions. Weasel coffee (ca phe chon) is a local speciality. The bohemian cafés on Phan Dinh Phung street offer a cosy atmosphere perfect for the city's morning mist.

Bao Dai Summer Palace
The summer residence of Vietnam's last emperor (1933), perched on a pine-covered hill. The Art Deco palace is perfectly preserved: original furniture, royal bedroom and panoramic valley views. Entry €1.50 — a window into 20th-century imperial life.

Xuan Huong Lake — morning walk
The artificial lake at Dalat's heart is ringed by a 7 km flower park. Swan-shaped pedal boat rental (€2/h), morning jog with locals or a simple stroll through the mist — the romantic atmosphere that defines this city.

Strawberry and artichoke markets
Dalat's temperate climate (900-1,500m altitude) allows fruits that don't grow elsewhere in tropical Vietnam. Strawberries, raspberries, avocados and artichokes fill the markets. Pick-your-own farm visits available — a kilo of strawberries for €2.

Crazy House — surreal architecture
